Job Summary
To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code various medical services, including hospital visits and procedures, while working remotely and adhering to industry-standard coding guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance coding quality and workflow efficiencies
Required qualifications
- Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder, Health Information Technician, or similar coding credential
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, along with medical billing and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key
- Ability to abstract medical information from electronic or paper medical records
