Job Summary
To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code a variety of medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while working remotely and ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes using encoding software
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities as requested by management
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve workflow efficiencies and coding quality
Required qualifications:
- Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, medical science, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, or similar coding credential
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, including official coding guidelines for various healthcare settings
- Understanding of medical billing and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry
