Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will be responsible for coding various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes while ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services, applying knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards, tracking and reporting coding activities as required
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and coding quality
Required qualifications:
- Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding
- Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, E&M coding, and medical billing compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key
- Customer service and organizational skills
