Job Summary
To support the coding needs of a healthcare organization, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while working remotely and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards, tracking and reporting productivity metrics
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance coding practices and team communication
Required qualifications
- Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding
- Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, E&M coding, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Understanding of medical billing and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry
