Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will be responsible for coding a variety of medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding while ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.

Key responsibilities:
  • Code hospital and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes using encoding software
  • Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while pursuing ongoing education to keep certifications current
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance coding practices and team communication
Required qualifications:
  • Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
  • Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding credential
  • Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding, including official coding guidelines
  • Understanding of medical billing and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key
