Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will manage coding for various medical services including ambulatory surgery, hospital visits, and clinic procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and coding quality
Required qualifications:
- Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding credential
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing compliance
- Computer proficiency in MS Windows, including Excel and 10-key entry
- Ability to abstract medical information from electronic or paper medical records
