Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code a variety of medical services including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding while ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities
- Participate in staff meetings and training to enhance team communication and coding quality
Required Qualifications
- Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder or related credential (e.g., RHIT, CCS)
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing compliance
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
