Job Summary
To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code a variety of services including ambulatory surgery and hospital visits, utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and coding quality
Required qualifications:
- Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, or similar coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, E&M coding, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Understanding of medical billing and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry
