Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while pursuing ongoing education to retain certification
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to improvements in workflow efficiencies and coding quality
Required qualifications
- Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing and compliance requirements
- Computer proficiency in a Windows environment, including Excel and 10-key data entry
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
