Job Summary
To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code a variety of medical services, including hospital visits and procedures, using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, while working remotely from Washington state.
Key responsibilities
- Code hospital, ambulatory surgical center, and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities as required
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to enhance coding quality and team communication
Required qualifications
- Vocational school/certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, or equivalent coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows, including Excel and 10-key data entry
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
