Job Summary
To support coding operations, the full-time Washington Licensed HIM Coder II will code various medical services, including ambulatory surgery and clinic visits, while working remotely and adhering to industry standards and guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Code hospital and clinic services by assigning appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes using encoding software
- Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while pursuing ongoing education to keep certification current
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and workflow efficiencies
Required qualifications:
- Completion of a vocational school or certificate program in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
- Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding certification
- Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, as well as medical billing and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in MS Windows, including Excel and 10-key data entry
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
