Washington Licensed Medical Coder

Job Summary

To support healthcare operations, the full-time salaried Washington Licensed Medical Coder will assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, review patient documentation for accuracy, and collaborate with healthcare staff while working remotely on a temporary contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments using various classification systems
• Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness while ensuring compliance with regulations
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement and analyze medical records for documentation deficiencies

Required qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Medical Coder or in a similar role
• Three years of experience working directly for a Critical Access Facility or Rural Health Clinic
• Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records
• Experience troubleshooting Meditech and other billing software
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
