Job Summary
To support the Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor (SFR) Program, the contract-based Senior Safety Methods Engineer (Nuclear) will develop design and licensing methodologies, perform transient and accident analyses, and contribute subject matter expertise, all while working fully remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop methodologies for design and licensing basis events and perform transient and accident analyses
- Collaborate with safety analysis engineers to create analytical and computational models
- Establish and maintain documentation for analysis of record and methodology
Required qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D. in nuclear engineering or a relevant engineering degree with 10+ years of experience in the nuclear field
- Knowledge of nuclear systems, thermal-hydraulic, fuel performance, and reactor dynamics
- Experience with transient and accident analysis codes is required
- Familiarity with EMDAP and RG 1.203 is required
- Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering teams addressing engineering challenges
