Washington Licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design development of reactor structures and components, a remote contract Senior Mechanical Engineer (Vessels) will perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class HB and Section VIII division 2 vessels, ensuring compliance with nuclear codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and analysis for ASME Section III Class HB and Section VIII division 2 vessels, including nozzles and support elements
• Develop and maintain design specifications and calculations in compliance with ASME and related nuclear codes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define design requirements and resolve technical issues

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
• Minimum of six years of equipment/component design experience, or ten years for a higher level, with relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and/or VIII division 2
• Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and mechanical analysis methods, with emphasis on ANSYS
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
