Washington Licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Washington Licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer on a remote contract basis, the successful candidate will create design solutions for reactor structures and components, focusing on ASME Section III nuclear design while preparing and reviewing design specifications and reports.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class HB and/or Section VIII division 2 vessels
• Develop and maintain design specifications, calculations, and qualification reports in compliance with ASME and nuclear standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define design requirements and support audits and design reviews

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
• Minimum of six years of equipment/component design experience, or ten years with an M.S. degree credited as two years of experience
• Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and/or VIII division 2
• Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and commercial mechanical stress analysis tools, particularly ANSYS
• Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
