Job Summary
To facilitate patient account resolutions, the full-time remote Washington Patient Financial Counselor will manage financial clearance, payment collection, and eligibility determinations while assisting patients with applications for financial assistance programs.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients in navigating financial assistance options and complete applications for state and federal sponsorship programs
- Identify patient eligibility for financial assistance and provide necessary education on available resources
- Engage directly with patients and families to resolve account issues and ensure a smooth financial clearance process
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
- 3 years of experience as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its affiliates
- 2 years of experience with automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably in Epic
