Washington Prescription Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Prescription Department Specialist will monitor patient chart activity, call in prescriptions to pharmacies, and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor patient chart activity in eClinicalWorks for locking and co-signing charts, and call in prescriptions as directed by providers
• Track established patient prescription authorizations and verify insurance coverage for prescriptions
• Submit prior authorizations to insurance companies and address patient inquiries regarding the authorization process

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with personal computers, including word processing and electronic spreadsheets
• One year or more of experience in office work is preferred
