Washington State Licensed Coding Director

Job Summary

Overseeing the Department of Coding & Charge Capture, the full-time salaried Washington State Licensed Coding Director will manage staff, coordinate operational activities, and collaborate with partners to enhance coding and charge capture performance in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and direction for the coding and charge capture department
• Coordinate operational activities and planning efforts across UW Medicine
• Analyze workflows and make recommendations for performance improvements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in business or healthcare
• 7 years of progressive management experience in Coding and Charge Capture, with at least 2 years at a senior level
• 3 years of experience in Professional Fee coding, preferably in an academic healthcare environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive organizational performance improvement
• Experience working with a unionized workforce, strongly preferred
