Job Summary

To support the design and development of advanced nuclear reactor systems, the remote contract Senior Mechanical Engineer ASME Lead will focus on the design, analysis, and certification of safety-related reactor components and pressure-retaining systems in compliance with ASME Section III requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of ASME Section III pressure boundary and internal reactor components
• Prepare, review, and certify Design Specifications (DS) and Design Reports (DR)
• Ensure compliance with ASME Section III, NQA-1, and NRC requirements while supporting licensing activities and design reviews

Required qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 10+ years of equipment or component design experience
• Extensive experience with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III
• Demonstrated experience certifying Design Specifications and Design Reports for nuclear pressure-retaining components
