Job Summary

Washington State Licensed Medical Coder, this full-time temporary position involves assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures, reviewing patient documentation for accuracy, and preparing claims for insurance reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments using classification systems
• Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness, ensuring correct code sequencing
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to clarify documentation and maintain patient record confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Medical Coder or in a similar role
• Three years of experience working directly for a Critical Access Facility or Rural Health Clinic
• Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is preferred
