Washington State Licensed Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Hospital Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and accurately code ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT procedural codes from various hospital case types
• Support revenue integrity by reviewing posted charges and resolving coding validation and claim edits
• Assign modifiers based on billing regulations and perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework in Health Information Management or equivalent work experience
• Two years of professional or outpatient facility coding experience or completion of an apprenticeship as a Hospital Coder for at least 12 months
• AHIMA credentials: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-P, or AAPC credentials: CPC, COC, CRC, CPMA
• Preferred experience in a pediatric acute care setting
