Washington State Licensed Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Outpatient Hospital Coder.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstract and code ICD-10 diagnosis, HCPCS codes, and CPT procedural codes from various hospital case types
• Support revenue integrity by reviewing posted charges for accuracy and resolving coding validation and claim edits
• Review coding edits and assign modifiers based on billing regulations

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework in Health Information Management or equivalent work experience
• AHIMA credentials: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-P, or AAPC credentials: CPC, COC, CRC, CPMA
• Experience as an Apprentice Hospital Coder for no less than 12 months is acceptable
• Preferred experience in a pediatric acute care setting
