Washington State Underwriter

Job Summary

Evaluating mortgage loan applications to determine credit risk, the full-time remote Washington State Underwriter will process various loan programs, communicate with loan officers and borrowers, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Process FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional loan applications within established timeframes
• Communicate with loan officers and borrowers to gather required documentation and manage loan conditions effectively
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of loan guidelines and proactively identify and resolve issues related to the loan process

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage processing
• Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain a strong work ethic
• Proficiency in relevant software and Microsoft Office products
• Strong attention to detail with a minimal error/default ratio
