Water Policy Director

Job Summary

Leading a national confederation of water-dependent sectors, the full-time salaried Water Group Director will coordinate strategic planning, facilitate collaboration among senior leaders, and advance state and federal water policies in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Water Group confederation, aligning strategy and fostering effective partnerships among members and stakeholders
• Facilitate governance and operations by convening leadership meetings and translating strategic priorities into actionable workplans
• Monitor policy developments and conduct research to develop strategic recommendations that advance confederation priorities

Required qualifications

• Minimum of eight years of experience in coalition management, policy advocacy, or multi-stakeholder leadership
• Demonstrated success in convening and influencing senior leaders and diverse stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes
• Strong strategic planning and project management skills, with the ability to create actionable workplans and performance measures
• Experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, and resource development initiatives
• Proven ability to work effectively across diverse political and organizational contexts, with a commitment to equity and inclusion
