Web Application Firewall Security Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Web App Firewall Security Engineer (Remote).

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as subject matter expert for enterprise WAF platforms, primarily Akamai, and support additional WAF technologies
• Design, deploy, configure, and manage WAF policies to protect web applications and APIs
• Monitor and analyze security events and traffic patterns, and participate in incident response activities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience operating and tuning Web Application Firewalls
• Strong hands-on experience with Akamai security products
• Knowledge of HTTP, HTTPS, TLS, DNS, and cloud-based environments
• Basic scripting or automation experience such as Python or Bash
