Web Developer

Job Summary

To support ongoing development and maintenance of public-facing web properties, the contract Web Developer will work remotely to design, optimize, and implement new functionality in a WordPress environment while collaborating closely with the Marketing team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based web properties, including custom themes and plugins
• Build and update landing and campaign pages in collaboration with Marketing and Design
• Optimize site performance and manage WordPress configuration, plugin updates, and security hardening

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web development experience with a significant focus on WordPress
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (vanilla and/or modern frameworks)
• Hands-on experience building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins from scratch
• Familiarity with WordPress VIP and its hosting environment, deployment workflows, and code standards
• Understanding of web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO
