Job Summary

Working remotely, the Wire Editor for Design Centers will produce high-quality content by writing engaging headlines, selecting and editing wire content for newspapers, and ensuring accurate presentation while collaborating with newsrooms.

Key responsibilities:

• Writes sophisticated headlines and display type, edits wire content, and trims stories to fit designated spaces
• Proofreads display type, corrects errors, and provides suggestions for clarity and improvement in content
• May mentor and guide other editors in achieving team goals and meeting deadlines

Required qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines
• Strong skills in organizing and packaging content while resolving production issues
• Capacity to make independent decisions regarding story selection and news value
• Experience with editing and a clear understanding of network style guidelines
• Completion of an editing test as part of the application process
