Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation quality, the full-time Wisconsin Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will communicate with healthcare teams to clarify and obtain necessary medical record documentation, ensuring accurate representation of patient severity and care complexity in a fully remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth chart reviews to identify missing or unclear documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to clarify documentation supporting severity of illness and complexity of care
- Complete extensive training modules and work one-on-one with a CDI trainer
Required qualifications
- Minimum of two years' acute care hospital experience
- Experience in critical care, general medical, and/or surgical nursing
- Previous experience with criteria-based chart reviews such as case management or quality improvement
- Knowledge of ICD code assignment and DRG assignment preferred
- Experience in educational presentations is beneficial
