Job Summary
To ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, the part-time Wisconsin Licensed Coding Auditor will perform coding quality audits, monitor billing and documentation accuracy, and provide education to coding teams and healthcare providers in a remote, flexible schedule environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducts compliance monitoring and auditing of coding and documentation for various healthcare services to ensure adherence to regulations
- Prepares compliance audit reports and assists in responding to external audits and inquiries from oversight agencies and payers
- Educates coders and providers on documentation requirements and coding compliance, while staying updated on regulatory changes
Required qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum three years of experience in hospital coding
- Minimum two years of experience in clinical medical audit review
- Current or obtained within one year of hire - Certified Coding Credential from AHIMA or AAPC
- Current or obtained within one year of hire - Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist from ACDIS
