Job Summary
To support a growing health care team, the full-time Wisconsin Licensed Coding Educator will perform coding reviews for surgical specialties, educate providers on documentation improvements, and mentor new team members while working remotely during regular business hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviews and assigns proper CPT and ICD-10-CM codes for various medical services with high accuracy
- Educates providers on documentation improvement and conducts internal audits to ensure compliance
- Mentors and trains new team members, providing orientation and ongoing support to meet department standards
Required qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Coding certificate or associate's degree in medical business or coding/health information
- Three years of experience in general medical or specialty coding
- Dual certifications through AAPC and/or AHIMA
- Must be 18 years of age
