Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder Inpatient III to assign ICD diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient hospital services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign ICD diagnosis and procedure codes, MS-DRGs, and APR-DRGs for complex inpatient cases
• Perform chart audits and assist junior coders with coding accuracy
• Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement specialists to enhance medical record documentation

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding experience at an academic medical center or 5 years in hospital inpatient coding
• Coding Certificate Program Completion or Associate Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or equivalent
• Certified RHIA/RHIT or CCS certification is required
• Advanced coding skills and comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
• Ability to adapt to various coding tools and software applications
