Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding Specialist II.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize encoder and coding resources to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
  • Apply knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiatives, Local Coverage Documents, and Medicare guidelines to select appropriate codes and modifiers
  • Maintain understanding of regulatory requirements and institutional guidelines in coding practices


Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education required, or an active coding certification in lieu of education
  • Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • 1 year of progressive coding experience required; 2 years preferred in multiple specialties
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification required upon hire
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred
