Job Summary
To support the coding team, the full-time Facility Outpatient Coder will assign ICD10 CM and CPT codes based on health care record documentation while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional coding standards, with the flexibility to work fully remote.
Key responsibilities
- Assign ICD10 CM and CPT codes from health care records in compliance with coding standards
- Review and collect health information data for patient care and research purposes
- Maintain confidentiality of health information while collaborating with the coding team
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Health Information Technology or Coding, or equivalent program with coding emphasis
- Coding accreditation and/or certification required within 18 months of hire
- Previous experience in medical coding, particularly in Medical Oncology, is beneficial
- Demonstrated organization, motivation, and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
