Job Summary
To support a growing commercial real estate team, the full-time Commercial Underwriting Counsel will provide underwriting support and guidance for title insurance commitments and policies, working in a hybrid capacity from Madison/Milwaukee, WI, or remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization related to real estate title insurance commitments and policies
- Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines to underwrite the issuance of title insurance within delegated authority limits
- Guide company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services and issue underwriting standards in accordance with company processes
Required qualifications
- 5-7 years of title underwriting experience, with a preference for commercial experience
- Law Degree required and must be admitted to practice law in the state of employment
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing
- Familiarity with real estate law and strong understanding of title and settlement processes
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen
