Job Summary
To enhance the quality of care for women Veterans, the full-time Women's Health Informatics Lead will serve as a clinical liaison between business owners and development teams, ensuring women's health care needs are integrated into health IT systems within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary health informatics liaison among stakeholders to ensure women's health care requirements are accurately captured in health IT systems
- Utilize clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynecology to inform the design and deployment of health information technology solutions
- Collaborate with VA IT teams to analyze and improve clinical data quality and electronic health record functionalities relevant to women Veterans' care
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health informatics and 10+ years of clinical experience in obstetrics/gynecology or women's health
- MD or DO degree required, along with a formal Informatics Certification or an advanced degree in Biomedical/Health Informatics
- Experience with VA health IT systems and familiarity with VA clinical operations and federal healthcare program structures
- Ability to obtain VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials and pass a VA background investigation
- Proven track record as a clinical-technical liaison, successfully translating clinical requirements into health IT specifications
