Job Summary
A provider of the best 1% of the world's technical talent for companies to hire has an open position for a Work at Home Technical Documentation Writer.
Must be able to:
- Create and maintain user documentation for Aurea products, including but not limited to online and context sensitive help, installation guides, API manuals, technical bulletins, release notes, and best practice documents
- Solicit material and work from verbal communication, e-mail, functional and requirements specifications, and interim builds of the software in the development phase
- Evaluate the effectiveness of documentation, and seek ways to improve its effectiveness and economy
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field, or in American or English literature with a minor in a technical field, or equivalent
- 2+ years of technical writing experience in a software company
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interview subject matter experts, and to collaborate with others in writing, editing and reviewing large or complex documents
- Experience with structured authoring standards, such as DITA, and topic-based authoring; familiarity with single-sourcing and multiple output formats such as HTML, compiled help files, PDF, etc
- Working knowledge of Web formats and technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
