About the job
We are looking to establish a relationship with a freelance designer to work on a variety of projects. These will be primarily web-based, though there may be some opportunities to consult on design of reports. Our previous projects include building crowdfunding platforms and websites for clients, creating database interfaces, and writing reports based on proprietary data.
About you
You will be able to quickly understand the needs of the client, come up with intuitive user journeys, design and test multiple wireframes and high-fidelity mockups, incorporate client feedback, and present a final prototype. In an ideal scenario, you will also be able to turn the design into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; however, we will prioritize design acumen over technical capabilities. If needed, you will also implement relevant metrics and analytics tools.
As projects come up, we will call on you to work with our team on a part-time basis, with a variable schedule. When a project starts, you will work close to full-time; the workload will gradually slow down as the client begins to accept the designs. Given the project-based nature of the work, the ability to prioritize and deliver under time pressure is essential.
You will be thoughtful, punctual, and meticulous. You will be a master organizer, and will seek to learn from and incorporate client feedback into your design. You will be able to explain clearly and persuasively the choices you make in your design, backing up your arguments with rigorous research, sound logic, and relevant experience.
