Job Summary

A healthcare company is filling a position for a Virtual Inpatient Coder.

Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:

• Reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic results
• Extracting data and applying appropriate ICD-9-CM codes for billing, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance
• Assigning codes for all diagnostic and operative information from the medical record

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
• Completion of classes in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, ICD-9 and CPT coding conventions, and disease process from an accredited program
• Must have completed an ICD-10 training course
• Must have three years of continuous hospital experience in coding
