Job Summary
A technology learning organization is filling a position for a Work from Home Software Development Rails Mentor.
Individual must be able to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Meeting with students 1-3 times per week, using technologies like Google Hangouts or Skype
- Answering questions, pair programming with students, and discussing outcome goals during mentoring sessions
- Using company messaging system to answer questions, review code, help students stay motivated, and participate in the community outside of mentoring sessions
Required Skills:
- 5+ years professional work experience using Rails
- Strong English communication skills
- Empathy for beginners
- Regular open source contributions preferred
- Reputation in the developer community a bonus
