Job Summary

Overseeing the adjustment and resolution of self-insured and self-administered casualty claims, the full-time Claims Unit Manager will manage a team of claims professionals, ensuring compliance with legal standards and effective claims handling in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain primary responsibility for settlement decisions and monitor staff investigations to ensure compliance with state laws and department policies
  • Approve benefit and claims payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while overseeing the management of workers' compensation and liability claims
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to communicate operational updates and manage significant incidents effectively
Required qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of workers' compensation claims adjusting experience with advanced knowledge of claims processing
  • Demonstrated experience in providing technical guidance and case management training
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil laws and state workers' compensation statutes
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in risk management or claims
  • Workers' Compensation license is preferred
