Job Summary
Managing complex Workers' Compensation cases with high exposure, the full-time salaried Workers' Compensation Technical Claim Specialist will investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
Key responsibilities
- Perform timely claim tasks and manage activities to ensure fair resolution while documenting all claim files appropriately
- Make informed coverage and compensability decisions, including evaluating subrogation potential and setting reserves based on claims analysis
- Direct the work of defense attorneys and manage vendor assignments to support claim investigations and evaluations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of eight years in technical insurance claim roles with increasing responsibilities
- Experience handling claims across multiple jurisdictions, with preference for California expertise
- Completion of AIC and/or CPCU is preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain state adjusting license requirements and complete continuing education
