Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Managing complex Workers' Compensation cases with high exposure, the full-time salaried Workers' Compensation Technical Claim Specialist will investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Key responsibilities

• Perform timely claim tasks and manage activities to ensure fair resolution while documenting all claim files appropriately
• Make informed coverage and compensability decisions, including evaluating subrogation potential and setting reserves based on claims analysis
• Direct the work of defense attorneys and manage vendor assignments to support claim investigations and evaluations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum of eight years in technical insurance claim roles with increasing responsibilities
• Experience handling claims across multiple jurisdictions, with preference for California expertise
• Completion of AIC and/or CPCU is preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain state adjusting license requirements and complete continuing education
