Writing Services Specialist

Job Summary

Providing individualized writing support to graduate students, the part-time hourly Writing Services Specialist will conduct 1:1 consultations, maintain an online writing center, and collaborate with faculty to enhance academic writing standards in a fully remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 1:1 meetings with graduate students to support academic writing and provide individualized feedback
• Maintain and update the Writing Center, ensuring effective resources are available for students
• Collaborate with graduate faculty and curriculum developers to elevate writing standards across programs

Required qualifications

• Master's degree required; emphasis in English or creative writing preferred
• 2 or more years of experience providing writing instruction or academic writing support in higher education preferred
• Teacher certification in English, Literature, or a related field is preferred
• Strong understanding of APA formatting and proofreading skills
• Ability to edit content across various digital platforms, including HubSpot, WordPress, and Google Suite
