z/OS Network Systems Administrator
Job Summary
To support critical network operations, the long-term contract z/OS Network Systems Administrator will manage IBM z/OS Communication Server, ensure mainframe connectivity, and troubleshoot file transmission and email infrastructure, all while working remotely in the EST/CST time zones.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and navigate the z/OS environment, including TSO, ISPF, JCL, and VSAM management
- Collaborate with Enterprise Network Services and Security teams to maintain network integrity and performance
- Develop monitoring and reporting tools to enhance system oversight and troubleshooting capabilities
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS Communication Server
- Strong knowledge of VTAM, TCP/IP, TN3270, FTP, Policy Agent, and SMTP
- Experience with TSO/REXX, TSO/CLIST, or SAS scripting for automation
- Familiarity with mainframe connectivity supporting MQ, DB2, CICS, and related middleware
- Proficient in z/OS and JES2 operator commands
