z-OS System Programmer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a z/OS System Programmer for a long-term contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform standard system programming activities including configuration, installation, and maintenance using SMP/E
• Architect, install, and configure complex z/OS environments and support software standardization
• Collaborate with application support teams and enhance the mainframe environment through system and process improvements

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS
• Expertise in SMP/E and Non-SMPE installation of ISV products
• Mastery of z/OS system commands, utilities, and automation tools
• Experience with z/OS V2.5 upgrades or later and z/OSMF workflow execution
• Fluent in JCL and IBM Utilities, with basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST
