z/OS System Programming Specialist
Job Summary
Leading enterprise z/OS system programming initiatives, the contract z/OS System Programming Specialist will work remotely to ensure platform stability, performance, and operational excellence while managing core mainframe components and providing technical support.
Key responsibilities
- Install, customize, maintain, and support z/OS operating system environments
- Execute system tuning, performance optimization, and capacity management activities
- Provide Level 3 technical support for critical incidents and lead Root Cause Analysis efforts
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in z/OS system programming
- Strong hands-on experience with MVS, JES2, Sysplex, and LPAR configurations
- Expertise in SMP/E installation and maintenance, z/OS upgrades, and ISV software lifecycle management
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience supporting mission-critical, highly available z/OS platforms in regulated industries preferred
