As a remote LPN, or licensed practical nurse, you provide basic telehealth services over the phone. Since an LPN cannot diagnose or prescribe medicine, most of this work is determining whether or not a patient needs to seek medical care. There are also opportunities to utilize your LPN training outside of patient care. For example, you can do data entry work as a medical abstractor. To become an LPN, you must either get a certificate from a nursing program or an associate degree. You then have to pass the NCLEX-PN exam to get licensed. While there are entry-level online LPN positions, most nurses gain some on-site experience before switching to a telecommute role.

To succeed as a remote LPN, you need compassion and strong listening skills. Jobs currently available in this field include Telecommute LPN Telephonic Interviewer, Telecommute Licensed Practical Nurse Health Information Specialist, and Virtual Licensed Nurse Abstractor.
