A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage unresolved claims by following up with insurance carriers, researching issues, and ensuring the resolution of claims to facilitate payment.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through phone calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Handling patient balances as assigned and participating in various special projects related to claims

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience required
• Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Prior office experience where problem-solving and research were key to success
• Ability to summarize important details concisely in account notes
• Strong computer skills and flexibility to manage competing priorities
