A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage follow-ups with insurance carriers on aged claims, research insurance issues, and ensure resolution of claim problems within the revenue cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status through calls and insurance websites
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Managing patient balances and completing special projects as assigned

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience required
• Medical billing experience is helpful; hospital claims experience preferred
• Prior office experience with problem-solving and research as key responsibilities
• Ability to summarize important details in account notes effectively
• Prior computer experience is required
