A/R Follow Up Specialist
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage the follow-up process for aged, unresolved insurance claims, conduct research on insurance issues, and ensure the resolution of claim problems to facilitate payment.
Key responsibilities
- Following up on unresolved claims through phone calls and insurance company websites
- Identifying reasons for non-payment from payers and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
- Managing patient balances as assigned and completing special projects as needed
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
- Medical billing experience is helpful; hospital claims experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions based on research
- Prior office experience with a focus on problem-solving and research
- Excellent summarization skills for account notes
