A/R Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the A/R Follow Up Specialist will manage unresolved insurance claims, conduct research on payment issues, and ensure timely resolution of claims while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the revenue cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Following up on unresolved claims and checking claim status with insurance companies
• Identifying reasons for non-payment and taking appropriate actions to resolve issues
• Managing patient balances as assigned and completing other related duties

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of A/R follow-up (Insurance Collections) experience is required
• Medical billing experience is helpful, with a preference for hospital claims and healthcare receivables experience
• Prior office experience where problem-solving and research were key to success
• Ability to summarize important details in account notes effectively
• Computer proficiency and flexibility to manage competing priorities
